Gently sweeping as you walk

I made a pair of fabric zori sandals using old T-shirt fabric.

At first, I thought they turned out quite nicely. But after wearing them for a while, I noticed that some of the fabric ends I had woven in started to come loose.Maybe I should have secured them with glue.

But interestingly, those loose ends seem to gently sweep the floor as I walk… and I kind of like it that way.

Since they’re made from T-shirt fabric, they can be washed.Though they might take some time to dry, so it’s probably best to wash them on a bright, sunny day—especially in summer.

They’re meant to be worn barefoot, so they feel like a perfect summer item.

They’re not perfect, but I like how they change and soften with use.

I may explore making it again, and perhaps one day, it will find its place on the Attic Shelf.
