This new creature is a type of puppet monster. It is 'mof-mof' (a Japanese onomatopoeic expression for something soft and puffy), so I would like to name this creature 'Mof.'

Meet Torao, the First Mof!
 
The very first Mof is Torao. His name comes from Tora (meaning “tiger” in Japanese) plus -o, a traditional ending for male names.
 
Torao has a slightly goofy look—probably because of his outward-turned eyes—but that’s part of his charm. He wears a belly warmer and a lucky charm necklace, just like the wandering hero from old Japanese movies, Tora-san.
 
Yes, Torao is ready to travel far and wide… but what he wants most is a forever home.

NB　：　For photography purposes, a light support (such as a small plastic bottle) may be placed inside Torao. It will be shipped without any internal support, so it may be a little flat, just like a soft plush puppet should be.

この新しい生き物は「Mof（モフ）」という種類のパペットモンスターです。
名前の由来は、日本語でふわふわ・もこもことしたものを表す擬音語「もふもふ」から。
最初のMofであるこの子の名前は「TORAO（トラヲ）」。
「トラ」は日本語で虎を意味し、男の子の名前に伝統的につけられる「ヲ」を合わせています。
トラヲはちょっととぼけた顔をしています。外斜視のせいかもしれませんが、それがまた彼の魅力です。お腹には腹巻を巻き、首からはお守りをさげていて、まるで昔の映画に出てくる旅人の寅さんのよう。
彼は寅さんのように、たくさんの人に愛され、いろいろな場所を旅することを夢見ています。でもやっぱり、帰るおうちが欲しいのです。自分の居場所を探しているのです。
