This Takuhatsu-gasa (traditional monk's hat) is handcrafted from a bamboo hat base and finished using the traditional Japanese Ikkanbari technique.
Layers of Japanese washi paper, including Tosa Washi, have been carefully applied to the bamboo structure and reinforced with Kakishibu (persimmon tannin). The result is a lightweight yet sturdy hat with a distinctive texture and a warm, natural appearance that continues to develop character over time.

Each piece is individually finished, making every hat unique. Variations in color, paper patterns, and surface texture are part of the handmade nature of the work.
