Quietly Growing Colors

Quietly but steadily, I’m moving forward one step at a time. This is the second round of kakishibu coating on the Ikkanbari hats.(For the larger one, it’s the second coating on the rim.)

…And then I noticed something interesting — the inside of the hats.

The smaller one has not been coated with kakishibu yet, but the larger one has already been coated twice and dried in the sunlight. Because of that, the color has slowly deepened like this.

It’s a very subtle change, easy to overlook at first glance. But it was one of those moments when I could truly see how things quietly grow over time.
